Medicare generally does not pay for long-term care or the cost of residing in an assisted living facility or nursing home.
If you transition to a skilled nursing facility after a qualifying hospital stay, Medicare Part A will cover up to 100 days of necessary medical care.
Medicare Part B will continue to cover your standard medical services, such as doctor visits and durable medical equipment, regardless of your living arrangement.
